Lady and the Blur - A 3 Book Superhero Story
Book 1: Where None Belong

Book 2: What Heroes Do
Book 3: No Heroes Allowed

Fantasy / Superhero
Fantasy
People with real superpowers don't exist in our world. But what if a few of them suddenly showed up. What would happen? How would everyone react? How did they wind up with superpowers? And what kind of problems would they face?
Of course, you can't have superheroes without supervillians to go with them, and this story has some great ones.
For our heroes though, perhaps the supervillians are not the real problem. Despite desperatly wanting to be "good-guys," sometimes life throws you some nasty curves and you find yourself on the wrong side of the law. What kind of heros are they then? What does something like that do to the mentality of someone who only wants to do good?
A grimoire of dark and evil spells, a strange ancient prophesy, a witch doctor, and for some reason, the most powerful witch ever born has a daughter with no magic at all. And what on earth could Rasputin, a Russian monk who died a century before, have to do with it all?
Victoria was the most powerful witch ever born. Her first and third daughters were wonderful, both of them born with world-class witch power. But her middle daughter, Cornelia, had no power at all, and had been a thorn in her mother’s backside since the day she was born. And yet, time after time, Victoria lost when she faced her young middle daughter – who had no magic. It was impossible! She was impossible! And Victoria’s hatred for Cornelia knew absolutely no bounds!
This is a book about witches hidden within our modern world. There are very few witches in the world, and only a few hundred with any actual power. Females with the power are called witches. Males with the power are called warlocks. Oh, and back in 1916 a rather famous person was murdered in Russia. His name was Rasputin, and he was a warlock.

Jodi wasn’t normal. Her entire life was filled with anger and rage. Consistency and routine were how she got through each day. But from the night someone tried to mug her, and she met John Higgins, her life became anything but routine. She soon found herself in the middle of the crossroads between two separate crimes that had nothing at all to do with each other. But she had lived with anger all her life, and rage was her very best friend.
Jodi was a young woman with a touch of autism, borderline or high functioning Asperger’s Syndrome. She also dealt with carefully controlled anger issues. Because of this, one of the things she struggled with the most was understanding feelings and emotions that didn’t relate to anger, both in herself and in others.
Because of her autism, she did her best to live her entire life within strict comfortable routines, her normal, as she called it. However, part of her normal routine was that whenever she wasn’t working in the supermarket, she worked out doing high-level martial arts exercises, the discipline of it helping to keep her grounded. At the same time, she worked out against a large heavy punching bag hung from the ceiling of her apartment which helped keep her anger issues under control. All this made her not only extremely good at her martial arts skills, but quite dangerous as well.
John was fresh out of Delta Force in the army, the army’s most elite fighting unit. He came back to Baltimore because his brother had been recently murdered there and he needed to handle his brother’s affairs, including try to find out who murdered him, since it seemed like the police didn’t appear to be doing anything about it.
The evening John met Jodi was one he would never forget. He might have been fresh out of Delta Force, but when he tried to stop someone from mugging Jodi, she got angry at him for it and lashed out, nearly taking his head off so fast he had no idea what happened. By the time he started to pick himself up off the sidewalk he just barely caught a glimpse of her going into her apartment down the street.
The two of them tried to figure out who killed John’s brother, their strange relationship with each other, and especially for Jodi, just what was the strange new emotions she felt about him.
Suspense / Romance
He was a murderer and a thief. And he didn’t want to be either. Necessity had driven him to it. He was capable of killing people with just his mind, so he wanted to avoid people at all cost. Besides, didn’t they throw murderers in prison…or execute them? He’d had enough of being imprisoned in that shed. Now he was wandering alone in a vast forest, hiding, avoiding people. He had escaped that shed with nothing at all, not even any memories from before he had entered that shed. But how could he survive out in the wilderness with nothing at all? He decided he would simply have to figure it out.
And then he met a woman. A forest ranger who had come into the woods looking for him. There was a connection between them that he couldn’t deny. She didn’t know he was a murderer. She didn’t know he was a thief. And he wanted to keep it that way.
Forest Ranger Lorna Dunn found out there was a mysterious stranger living in her assigned section of the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. A stranger who everyone worried might be a criminal hiding out in that part of the forest. But the stranger was like a ghost. Nobody seemed to be able to find him, but as it turned out, he could find her. And when she did finally meet him, he was nothing at all like she expected.
(Excerpt)
She looked up into his horribly scarred face, a face that showed the signs of so much misery, but she saw only happiness in his eyes. She leaned forward, moving up to her knees. She saw the questioning look in his eyes, but she ignored it. Her hands reached out and cupped both sides of his head. She leaned her head close to him and kissed his lips. She pulled back and saw the wonderment in his eyes. She leaned forward and kissed him again, this time, he kissed her back.

Kidnapped twice, ten-year-old Sarah feared what each tomorrow might bring. And so far, each tomorrow seemed to be worse than the day before. But as bad as it was, she had a feeling that this wasn’t really hell at all. Hell was her next life. And if she didn’t find some way to escape, then her next life might just come, tomorrow.
FBI agent, Allison Preston, is tasked with leading the investigation into finding Sarah. With little to go on, she’s forced to dig deeply into the past to search for any kind of motive behind the multiple kidnappings. But in doing so, she unwittingly starts to unravel the strings behind something far older, and far more heinous. And when she finally gets the proof, she has to wonder if finding and rescuing Sarah might be worse than whatever life Sarah had been kidnapped into. Because literally everything about Sarah’s life was a lie.

Crime / Suspense
At thirteen years old, Brian Winston’s goal in life was to be nobody. To remain invisible…unnoticed, especially by the local street gang. Living with his mother in one of the worst areas of New York City, Brian dreamed every night of a far different life than the life of poverty they knew.
But then two things happened. First, his mother got mugged by that street gang, and then he found a box full of stolen items. Not knowing what to do with the box, Brian finally turned it over to a priest who promised to deal with it for him.
What nobody could foresee, was how interested not only the police would be in that box, but also the FBI and the mafia. Before he knew it, Brian’s goal of staying unnoticed by the street gang was the least of his worries as he found himself enmeshed in a war to get control of something from that box.

“If I find them, will you feed me?”
They were the haunting words of the most miserably wretched bum I could ever imagine. A bum who was desperately hungry and starving. A bum that nobody, myself included, wanted anywhere around. But as it turned out, he was a bum with the most amazing psychic ability anyone had ever seen.
His hunger somehow led him directly to me, Clifford McNair, Agent of the FBI. I wanted nothing to do with him at first. But fate somehow interceded and I soon learned just what this miserable starving wretch was capable of doing. And once I found out, I knew it would be like opening Pandora’s Box. Except that I doubt Pandora’s Box ever held anything like what was thrown at us!
Imagine that your son or daughter has suddenly gone missing… seemingly vanished from the face of the earth… just as happens in real life, over and over again, every single day, all around the world. How frightened would you be? How desperate would you be? What would you be willing to do to find your child? Would you be willing to go so far as to work with a psychic that the FBI wants to bring in?
But suppose that psychic was abominably filthy, horribly twisted and disfigured, and smelled absolutely awful. And you would have to actually touch the wretch in order for him to “do his thing.” Would you still be willing to work with him?
And what if before that wretch of a man agreed to help you, he insisted on asking you one simple question: “If I find her, will you feed me?” What would you do then? Would you still consider asking for his help?
But now the FBI tells you that this wretched psychic has been one hundred percent correct in absolutely everything he’s seen. He has never failed to find a loved one – alive or dead – ever! What would you do then? Would you jump at the chance despite how repugnant the wretch appears?
And then the FBI drops the final bomb. He’s a convicted child molester. How would you feel then about having him find your missing child? What would you do?
Abominably filthy and disfigured. Child Molester. One Hundred Percent!

Fantasy (Sword and Sorcery)
Book One of my Fantasy Series: Chronicles of the Guides
It was the perfect plot, one that would annihilate every man, woman, and child in the western kingdoms. And by the time anyone found out about it, it was already too late.
The Guides are literally the hand of God in the world, but there are only four of them. Four Guides that try to keep their true identities secret. Their purpose in life is to go wherever God guides them, and to gently nudge people toward a better path. People don’t always do what they suggest, but they try anyway.
Now a grave plot has been put in place and trouble is descending on all of the western kingdoms. The kingdoms are all too focused on their own problems to notice what’s been secretly happening all around them. Their armies and what few wizards are left can’t help them. And this time, even the mighty magic of the Guides won’t be enough.
If you like a good epic fantasy, then this book is for you. Epic battles. Epic wizardry. An epic plot. Even epic characters. All of it wonderfully combined into a unique storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat for a long, long time.
Don’t let the fact that it’s book one of the series scare you, Magic of the Guides is a complete novel. In fact, I didn’t know I was going to turn this into a series until after I finished it. And you can read a little about the next book in the series, Wicked Wedding, in the Pipeline section of this website.
This book available as both an EBook and a paperback, but only through Amazon Books.
